Cycle routes at Brucefield estate
We have TREK bicycles available for hire: great bikes to explore or simply potter about with. Starting directly from the estate, farm shops and historic sites there is lots to see while you’re here. These routes have all been ridden by members of our team who’ll be sure to give you other tips too. We’re sure that you will find something for everyone: even those who haven’t ridden in years!
And being directly on a traffic-free bicycle route (Sustrans NCN764) means that you can easily explore the estate and nearby woodlands, have lunch at a nearby farm shop, or head to historic sights.
Being traffic-free, our stretch of the route is perfect for young kids just starting out on balance bikes who need lots of space, as well as for those who haven’t cycled since their younger years and keen to have a go!
On Strava (search for Brucefield Estate) you’ll find a selection of cycle routes where we have something for everyone:
Woodland trails with access to Forestry Scotland Devilla Forest (this also makes a lovely walk from our doorstep)
Routes along small roads to nearby farm shops and a bit farther afield Cambuskenneth Abbey and the Wallace Monument.
And if you’re looking for a hill challenge try Markus Stitz’s Clackmannanshire loop which is right on our doorstep.
And a recommended road route is Round the Forth bridges
Our route gives access to the Round the Forth NCN76 route (from Berwick to Fife) as well as routes across Stirlingshire to the Trossachs. On the Trossachs map we’re the orange loop labelled 11c.
We also have some children’s bicycles too.

A beautiful cycle for a great day out.
Starting at Brucefield, the route will take you past the large Diageo whisky warehouses on the way to Alloa.
The town marks 1/3rd of the way, and for the casual cyclist the first welcome break. Continue to Cambuskenneth Abbey, which is 2/3rds of the way to your end point. The Abbey has the oldest bell tower in Scotland (C13th) and was the site of Robert the Bruce’s first parliament after the Battle of Bannockburn.
The route will lead you to the Wallace Monument overlooking Stirling. It is reached by a steep ride for the ambitious, but the hill can also be leisurely walked up.
Climb the 246 steps to the top to take in the breath-taking views in all directions from the top and reward yourself with a cuppa and cake at the Legends café afterwards.
