Clackmannanshire – Kincardine – Culross

16.5 miles

This circular route offers picturesque views of the Clackmannanshire, Kincardine, and Culross countryside. Following the cycling paths, National Route 764 and National Route 76, plus some small country lanes, it acts as a tour of the area and takes you through the historic burgh town of Culross.

There are several lovely cafes to stop at for a bite to eat, fuelling you for the road ahead!

A historical trip from Brucefield Estate to Cambuskenneth Abbey and the Wallace Monument

25 miles

This longer ride is ideal for slightly more experienced cyclists. Starting at Brucefield Estate, you make your way to Alloa, passing the large whisky warehouses the town is known for en route. Take a break in Alloa to check out Alloa Tower, Scotland’s oldest and largest keep.

From Alloa, the journey continues to Cambuskenneth Abbey, an impressive building that is home to the oldest bell tower in Scotland – constructed in the 1300s. The abbey was the scene of Robert the Bruce’s first parliament after the battle of Bannockburn, and the burial place of James III.

The cycle route will then lead you on to one of Scotland’s most distinctive landmarks - the Wallace Monument. It’s a steep ride, but well worth the effort! Climb the 246 steps to the top of the monument to enjoy breath-taking, panoramic views of Scotland’s historical landscape. Afterwards, reward yourself with a cuppa and cake at the Legend’s Café.

Saline Shaw Farm Shop and Café

4.2 miles

Pick up a tasty lunch and enjoy a lovely outing on the route to Saline Shaw farm shop and café. The short trip is along quiet country lanes, perfect for less experienced road cyclists and children.

Devilla Forest Long Loop

12.5 miles

Devilla Forest is just a short ride from Brucefield Estate along the traffic-free NCN764. Here, you can choose from an array of forest trails differing in length and difficulty.

The long loop takes you on a scenic, mostly flat ride along the forest tracks. Here you can try to spot red squirrels along the Red Squirrel Trail and look out for otters in the forest’s four lochs. Park up and enjoy a picnic among the Scots Pine trees before heading back to Brucefield Estate to relax!
